The Trips Page

The Trips page is the fish logging page of the Fish Diaries. It is the entry point of how information is distributed throughout the program. The page comes equipped with 2 entries modes so it can be used in one of two ways. You can use the page to simply log total fish caught, which will be a point and click interface, or you can use it to log detailed information to each individual fish. One of the great features of the Fish Diaries is you can custom tailor the program to log detailed information that fits your own individual needs. The program ships with 10 built in fields for logging information. Fields such as Length, Weight, and Lure. Not only can these fields be turned off but you can create your own custom fields. For example, Lets say you are interested in logging the length, time, lure, and tide for each fish you catch. To do so you can use the built in length, time, and lure fields and then create your own custom field named tide. With the Fish Diaries you get fishing software that is capable of logging anything you want.

The Diary Page

The Diary Page is a virtual diary displaying all information entered into the Fish Diaries. Here you can add pictures and notes to each trip date, as well as, create illustrated printouts that can include your Angler, Lure, and Species images, photos, and trip data. The Diary Page is completely customizable making every detail, from font to format, adjustable, and allowing pictures to be organized creating a memorable look back on your fishing trips that are packed with valuable information for use on future trips.

The Reports Page

The Reports page allows you to view your logged trip information in four different ways. You can view all information for each individual trip date; you can view all information for each individual species, angler, location, or lure; you can view the total fish caught for each item of a field, such as, total fish caught by each moon phase; or you can use the Multi-Field reports to view total fish caught for each item of a combination of fields. With the Multi-Field reports you can see reports such as: The total of each species caught at each location or even the total of each species caught by each lure at each location. There are 36 pre made multi field reports to choose from and you can also create your own custom multi field reports that can be made up of any built in fields or custom fields you create on the Trips page. All reports can be fully modified and saved. You can modify the fields and items that are included in the reports, the fonts for each item, and the title of the reports.

The Map Page

The Map Page displays a detailed map of the United States. It is a visual representation of your fishing locations and information related to them. Waypoints can be marked with notes and photos attached, map notes can be added to record information about a specific area, items can be drawn such as docks and oysters, and a complete celestial guide is also included to reference lunar activity. The Map Page is easy to navigate and provides a unique view of your fishing locations. It is a tool that can be used to create an effective route for your next fishing trip.

The Waypoints Page

The Waypoints page allows you to organize your fishing locations. Your locations can be categorized by type and can be organized by creating sub lists. With GA Data Systems fishing software you can create waypoint lists in three ways. You can point and click which waypoints to include in the list, you can choose a center point and specify a radius in miles to package the points, or you can drag a rectangle on a map to select the points. The lists can also be filtered by category and can be sorted in various ways. Filtering allows you to have only a specific type of waypoint in your lists. For example, you could drag a rectangle over the Florida Keys and filter the list by Lobster points which would create a list of all your lobster points in the Keys. There are eight different ways to sort your lists. You can sort them by North to South, total fish caught, closest point to closest point, and more. The page also allows importing of GPS points through GPX files and provides limited support with Garmin handheld USB devices.

The Anglers, Lures, and Species Pages

Another great feature of this fishing software is the separated pages to represent your Anglers, Lures, and Species of Fish. Each page displays an illustrated list of the item it represents. You can refer back to these pages to view a running total of fish caught and you can also double click an item to view an illustrated totals breakdown.

The Anglers page is where you will create a list of all the anglers you want to log information to. The list could be made up of just yourself or any number of additional friends and family. Each angler is allowed to have a custom image attached that will be displayed when logging trips and viewing and printing trips on the Diary page.

The Species page is where you will create a list of the species of fish that you catch. The Fish Diaries is equipped with over 100 beautiful species images to choose from and your own custom images can be added as well.

The Lures page allows you to create a graphical representation of your lures. The lures on this page allow you to log the actual image of the lure. When referring back to trips on the Diary page you can not only see the name of the lure but the actual lure image itself. The Fish Diaries is equipped with over 50 different lure styles each having multiple body styles and colors and your own custom lure images can be added as well.
